International Conference ‘When Women Film’ starts in Grenoble and Lyon
With Margarita Ledo Andión and María Soliña Barreiro González
From October 2 to 5, the Universities of Grenoble-Alpes and Lyon host the international colloquium “When women film: the documentary in the Iberian Peninsula and the Latin American continent”. This interuniversity meeting aims to study the documentary production made by women from the countries of the Iberian Peninsula or the Latin American continent. Its purpose is to rethink, in a transdisciplinary perspective, the epistemological frameworks of the documentary image analysis. The colloquium analyzes the various ways in which documentaries, which are condemned to the double marginality of the documentary and the status of women, operate as intelligibility operations of the world.
Two researchers from the GEA, Margarita Ledo Andión and María Soliña Barreiro González, participate in the event. Ledo intervenes on Wednesday, October 2 in Grenoble, in a round table with screenings that she shares with Sonia Kerfa, Catarina Mourão (Associação pelo Documentário Português) and Mariano Lisa (Class Cinema Collective). On Friday, October 4, the Professor of Audiovisual Communication and coordinator of the GEA also offers the conference ‘The body and the camera’ at the Université Lumière Lyon 2. Also on Friday, the teacher and researcher María Soliña Barreiro participates in the panel ‘Body, Women and Resistance in the Spanish contemporary documentary ‘, with the presentation’ Body work, pain and absence ‘, in co-authorship with Fraj Herranz.
