EUVOS: THE CONTRIBUTION OF SMALL CINEMATOGRAPHIES TO EUROPE’S INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE
The vindication of a dialogic and inclusive interculturality, through small cinematographies, emerges as an effective alternative to the incessant questioning of the European identity and its common culture, subjected both to the exogenous pressure of global multimedia groups and to the endogenous proliferation of extremist reactions to any social, ethnic, religious, geostrategic or geo-strategic conflict.
This choral book is the result of the research EUVOS. Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial. Para un programa europeo de subtitulado en lenguas no hegemónicas, ref. CSO2016-76014-R, which was carried out by an international team based in a dozen European universities, coordinated by the University of Santiago de Compostela: Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, Stockholms Universitet, Universidade de Vigo, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitè Paris 8, Universiteit Antwerpen, University of South Wales, University of Stirling and Univerzita Konštantína Filozofa v Nitre.
Therefore, the reading community (academic or not) interested in audiovisual content produced, disseminated and consumed in minority languages will find in these pages a truly up-to-date, useful and transdisciplinary alternative that, from the social sciences, covers fundamental issues for the enjoyment and safeguarding of European Intangible Cultural Heritage or Living Heritage.
