GEA holds the International Forum ‘Languages and cinema. Indicators for a European Programme for Subtitling’
International Forum ‘Languages and cinema. Indicators for a European Programme for Subtitling will be take place on Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela May 21 and 22. Held by the Grupo de Estudos Audiovisuais, this Forum will bring together international researchers on cinema and audio-visual translation in Europe with the aim of establish a list of indicators and benchmarks to take into account in a harmonic subtitling policy for the audio-visual and cinematographic production in non-hegemonic European languages.
In addition to the plenary sessions which be the central focus of the forum, the forum will close with the screening of shortfilms in non-hegemonic languages subtitled. The full program of the forum is available here.
Attendance is open prior to communication by email to estudosaudiovisuais.usc@gmail.com. Diploma of assistance will be given to the students of the Universities of the Galician University System, as well as non-student assistants who expressly request it.
The film Morlaix will be screened in the auditorium of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela on Tuesday, February 4, at 11 am.
