A lot of people attends the launch of two books of the project on the post-war Spanish cinema at Fundación Wenceslao Fernández Flórez
Last Friday the books Tragedias de la vida vulgar. Adaptaciones e irradiaciones de Wenceslao Fernández Flórez en el cine español and El malvado Carabel: literatura y cine popular antes y después de la Guerra Civil, were presented at Fundación Wenceslao Fernández Flórez. The books collect important research works developed in the Project Towards a reconsideration of postwar culture: analysis of the Modes of Representation in Spanish cinema (1939-1962) from Wenceslao Fernández Flórez’s mark (CSO2012-34648, Plan Nacional de I+D+i 2013-2015, Mineco – Gobierno de España).
The ceremony was presided over by the Principal Investigator of the Project and President of the Fundación Wenceslao Fernández Flórez, José Luis Castro de Paz, and counted with the presence of the Presidents of honour of the Foundation (Wenceslao and Antonio Luis Fernández Flórez), the Vice President of the Deputación de A Coruña (Mariel Padín), the Mayor of Cambre (Manuel Rivas Caridad), as well as the historians of the cinema Jean Claude Seguin (President honorary of Grimh) and Julio Pérez Perucha (President of Asociación Española de Historiadores del Cine). The researchers pondered the importance of books and claimed the cinematographic influence of the work of the Galician writer at a conference attended by a lot of people.
The approval of the General Audiovisual Law in 2022 updated the Spanish regulatory framework, tackling some of the challenges presented by agents such as streaming platforms, but also leaving open some other related to diversity protection.
