Registration open for the eighth edition of CO(M)XÉNERO
The Permanent Seminar on Communication and Gender is entitled on this occasion 'Video essay: minor cinema?'.
The cinema of me and from me, the cinema process as a reflexive formula, the cinema essay as a method of thinking about the world through images and as a method to let images recover their weight will be the practices that we will address in this eighth edition of CO(M)XÉNERO,organised by the Grupo de Estudos Audiovisuais (GEA).
“Videoensaio: cinema menor?” questions us about the freedom and heterogeneity of this practice, which has been linked to feminist cinema from its origins. E xoga cas reflexións de Deleuze e Guattari en Kafka. Pour une littérature mineur in order to consider this type of intimate conversation with the camera as political and collective cinema, as cinema that constructs spaces of emancipation.
Ana Mejón will bring us the experience of the magazine Tecmerin, highlighted by Sight and Sound for its contents developed through video-essays, and Xisela Franco will provide, from her own practice, working techniques to work with the genres of the self.
The programme includes lectures, projections and debate sessions, as well as workshops to introduce us to another way of telling stories.
Registration is free and open until 5 March via this form.
