The University of Santiago de Compostela presented a Centre of Production and Experimentation in Digital Contents the last 22th of October. This is the most important project of this type inside the program ‘Profesionales Digital.es’, developed by The Ministry of Industry, which will invert 1.150.000 euros. The teacher and researcher of Audiovisual Studies, Enrique Castelló Mato, has contributed to the birth of the Centre.
The public entity Red.es, who depends of the State’s Telecommunications Office to the Information Society, in collaboration with the Conference of Rectors and the University of Santiago de Compostela, has presented the project ‘Center of Production and Experimentation in Digital Contents’ in Galicia. This centre is going to work as an unit of training in digital contents.
This corporation, located in Santiago de Compostela, is going to be composed by different units of production: 3D experimentation, videogames and postproduction and diffusion of digital contents. The project has got a budget of 1.150.000 euros. The program Profesionales Digital.es covers 21 public universities of the State and the USC provides the 30 percent of the capital invested in this Centre.
Propelling the industry of digital contents is the main objective of this project. The centre is going to develop actions of training and investigation; experiences with virtual stages, and 3D animation. Besides, the results in techniques of virtual reality may serve as a support to the multimedia and audiovisual sector.
Different companies specialized in digital contents as the Agency Efe, Bren Entertainment, Blu:sens, Filmax Animation, Fiction Producciones, R Wire, Knowledge Factory, has collaborated with the project and another forty may do it in the future.
The film Morlaix will be screened in the auditorium of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela on Tuesday, February 4, at 11 am.
