La situación profesional de los periodistas españoles: las repercusiones de la crisis en los medios

This research analyzes the professional, labor and economic situation of journalists in Spain in the last five years, a period in which the crisis and media convergence coincide with the digitalization process. Method. To know the characteristics of the current scenario we conducted a qualitative and quantitative analysis with surveys of four editors of each of the main public and private media, and they were asked about all the changes imposed by their companies since 2008. In addition, we carried out a series of contrast interviews with experts to have a complementary and external assessment of the situation of the press. Results. The results obtained show that the conditions of the majority of Spanish journalists have worsened since the beginning of the crisis, and the problems have been accentuated in 2012. The cuts made in this period are the most drastic of the last twenty years and affect all the elements of the information process.
