Until March 20, it will remain open for registration in the International Symposium “Costumismo, humor, melancolía, reflexividade: Impronta de Wenceslao Fernández Flórez no cinema español”, which will be held in Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña, on 27 and 28 March.
Attendance is free, and to complete the registration, simply sends a request to the email simposiumcinefernandezflorez@gmail.com. Diploma of attendance to the students of the universities of Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Vigo, as well as attending non-students who expressly request it will be delivered.
As we have been announcing, the Symposium is one of the main events of the 50th anniversary of the death of Wenceslao Fernández Flórez. It is directed by José Luis Castro de Paz from the Research Project “Hacia una reconsideración de la cultura posbélica: análisis de los modos de representación en el cine español (1939-1962) a partir de la impronta de Wenceslao Fernández Flórez” (MINECO. Gobierno de España. CSO2012-34648), and organized by the Facultade de Ciencias da Comunicación da Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (Grupo de Investigación Estudos Audiovisuais), Facultade de Filoloxía da Universidade da Coruña, Concello da Coruña, Deputación da Coruña and Centro Galego de Artes da Imaxe (AGADIC. Xunta de Galicia).
The event will focus on the decisive influence of the work of the Galician author in the configuration of certain models of styling in the first two postwar decades Spanish cinema. The inaugural conference will be borne by José-Carlos Mainer, accredited researcher of Spanish letters and expert in the work of Fernández Flórez. Then, leading researchers from various national and international universities will reflect and discuss issues related both to the direct influence of the work of the writer in the film of his texts adaptations as to certain aspects of their literature and Spanish Cinema of the period. Finally, the intervention cycle will conclude with a conference from Julio Pérez Perucha, President of Asociación Española de Historiadores del Cine.
