José Luis Castro de Paz explains in TVG the relationship between Wenceslao Fernández Flórez and the Spanish cinema
Following the success of the International Symposium Costumismo, humor, melancolía, reflexividade: Impronta de Wenceslao Fernández Flórez no cinema español organized from the research project Towards a reconsideration of post-war culture: analysis of the Modes of Representation in Spanish cinema (1939-1962) from Wenceslao Fernández Flórez’s mark (CSO2012-34648, Plan Nacional de I+D+i 2013-2015, Mineco – Gobierno de España), José Luis Castro de Paz participated in the program of the Televisión de Galicia ZigZag – Eirado in an interview about the relationship between the work of Wenceslao Fernández Flórez and the Spanish cinema. Castro de Paz referred to the decisive influence of the Galician writer, synthesizing his long relationship with Spanish Cinema since the 1920s up to the famous adaptations of “El bosque animado”, with a special focus on the two post-war decades, with the largest number of the translations of his texts to the screen.
After the Symposium and the cycle programmed by CGAI – Filmoteca de Galicia, the interview coincides these days with the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the writer, on 29 April 1964.
