GEA researcher Jennifer Novoa explains her research project in an interview for the newspaper La Voz de Galicia.
“She is now carrying out a project, which is part of her PhD, with the University of Santiago. She is doing research on Galician women photographers in the second half of the 20th century and at the same time she teaches classes in Art History: ‘I am just starting but the truth is that I feel that the research responds to the need to know more about the professions that existed at that time. I apply feminist theory to my field of study because we know that women experimented with the camera in the same way as their contemporaries but we barely have any documentation about what they did. I want to delve into who these women were, what kind of photography they did and why’, she explains.
