“Género – Contributos para uma Compreensão Efetiva das Mudanças”: Call for papers from Revista Lusófona de Estudos Culturais
The Revista Lusófona de Estudos Culturais (RLEC) has just opened its term for the submitting of papers for its next issue. The theme is framed under the title “Género – Contributos para uma Compreensão Efetiva das Mudanças” (Gender – Contributions for an Effective Comprehension of Changes”, and looks for deepening in “cultural meanings and significances” of the changes in gender relations in the last 20 years. For that, they invite to the submitting of articles that “in an inter or transdisciplinar logic, concur for a critical discussion on topics related to gender, power, ideology, imaginary, identity, subjectivity, discourse and representation, in diverse political and socio-cultural contexts (…)”. As a reference, they explain that they will give priority to the articles exploring the following subtopics:
– Intersectionality (e.g. ethnicity, class, sexuality, generation, age, nationality, religion)
– Diaspora and transnational migration
– Maternity and choice
– Aging and age discrimination
– Free time and leisure
– Hibridity and fragmentation of the postcolonial femenine subject
– Construction of the human-animal frontier
– Bodies, sexualities and desires
– Perfect (im)perfect body
– Transformations of the human body
– Space and spatiality
– Place, belonging experiences and sense of community
– Work cultures
– Visual culture and performance
– Celebrity culture
– Normality and deviation
– Aesthetics and poetics of otherness
– Hierarchy formation
– Empowering (or training) and control processes
Articles can be sent until february 16th, following the rules specified in the journal’s web. Papers in portuguese and english are accepted, and will be peer reviewed.
