On 14 and 15 September 2023, the seminar Cinema and sport. Class, genre and national question will be held in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the USC. This seminar is organised by the Grupo de Estudos Audiovisuais of the University of Santiago de CompostelaCinema. Col.lectiu d’Investigació Estètica des Mitjans Audiovisuals of the Pompeu Fabra University and the Cineclube of Compostela.

The meeting will be attended by Margarita Ledo, Emeritus Professor of Audiovisual Communication at the USC, José Luis Castro de Paz, Professor of Audiovisual Communication, and María Soliña Barreiro, professor and researcher. Representing the Pompeu Fabra University will be Manuel Garin, Albert Elduque, Nuria Cancela and Laia Puig. The photographer and researcher Vitor Vaqueiro and the publishing house Meninho Morreu will also take part.

GENDER, SPORT AND FILM STARDOM
