Seminar on Online Criticism and Programming
A Cuarta Parede and (S8) organise this course on 1st of June
A Cuarta Parede returns to the (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico to continue theorizing about experimental cinema. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the exhibition, the II Seminar of Criticism extends beyond the dates of the festival with an ambitious proposal that has the support of Acción Cultural Española. The training wants to emphasize this year the online world as a space where experimental cinema should continue its expansion in search of new audiences: either from film criticism or from film programming.
The activities will take place on 1st of June, in the Press Room Afundación, including theoretical sessions and round tables, as well as screenings of films that are scheduled the former day at Cineclube de Compostela. The students will also have the possibility of publishing texts, written and audiovisual, in A Cuarta Parede, with the edition support of the magazine. The teachers of the course will be Stefano Miraglia, independent curator and founding visual artist of MOVIMCAT – The Moving Image Catalog, an online project on moving image culture; and Brais Romero Suárez, director of A Cuarta Parede, programmer of the Curtocircuíto International Film Festival and member of the Audiovisual Studies Research Group.
