Festivales de cine y tendencias de futuro. Un estudio de caso

This article aims to study the phenomenon cinema festival from its capacity to conform a specific personality and, thus, influence issues of aesthetic nature and advance the cinematographic art in a certain direction. On this basis, we analyze a case of success, the Curtas Vila do Conde-International Film Festival, a festival of short films from this Portuguese town that demonstrates how, from a peripheral cinematography, a global presence can be acquired and the rhythm can be marked with a modality, the short film, which due to its traditional experimental nature is called to announce the innovations of the future.
