A communication related to the Research Project on the post-war Spanish cinema was presented at the “XIX Congreso de novela y cine negro” from Salamanca
The researcher Hector Paz Otero, Member of the Working Group of the Research Project “Towards a reconsideration of postwar culture: analysis of the Modes of Representation in Spanish cinema (1939-1962) from Wenceslao Fernández Flórez’s mark”, participated in the “XIX Congreso de novela y cine negro: La (re)invención de un género” organized by the University of Salamanca last April. In its communication (entitled “Un cadáver en el comedor e Intriga. De la metaliteratura a la metacinematografía”), the researcher analyzed the film Intriga, directed by Antonio Román in 1942 from the novel by Wenceslao Fernández Flórez Un Cadáver en el comedor, paying special attention to the reflexive aspect present in both works, and pondered on the influence of the literature of the Galician author in the formation of certain models of stylization experienced by Spanish cinematography throughout the 1940s and 1950s. This communication is the first exhibition in a Congress of one of the main issues studied in the Research Project.
