Recent publication of a book on Francisco Regueiro, coordinated from the Research Project on the post-war Spanish cinema

16/07/2014

Shangrila has published the book Me enveneno de cine. Amor y destrucción en la obra de Francisco Regueiro, coordinated by professors of the University of Santiago de Compostela José Luis Castro de Paz and Xosé Nogueira, and performed in the Research Project Towards a reconsideration of post-war culture: analysis of the Modes of Representation in Spanish cinema (1939-1962) from Wenceslao Fernández Flórez’s mark (CSO2012-34648, Plan Nacional de I+D+i 2013-2015, Mineco – Gobierno de España).
The book is a solid analysis of the artistic work of Francisco Regueiro, one of the most unique Spanish creators of the second half of the 20th century, clear example of Iberian surrealism.
In addition to the participation of several members of the Research Project (José Luis Castro de Paz, Fernando Redondo Neira, Santos Zunzunegui, Héctor Paz Otero, Imanol Zumalde), prestigious researchers (Xosé Nogueira, Julio Pérez Perucha, Asier Aranzubia, José Manuel Sande, Pedro Poyato, Jaime J. Pena, José Luis Téllez, Manuel Palacio, Concepción Cascajosa, Ana Melendo, Juan A. Hernández Les, José Vicente García Santamarina) collaborate in the volume with texts focused on the study of the films of director (since his early works carried out at the Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas / Escuela Oficial de Cinematografía, until each and every one of the films that comprise his filmography) and his television work and his paintings.
