The GEA participates in the filming of the documentary for the European project EduCO2health in Romania

The shoot took place at the Danube Delta and at the Marine Biology Station of the University of Iași, within the framework of an EU-funded project on the human exposome and environmental health

Researchers Pablo Calviño Tato and Manuel Barreiro Rozados, members of the Grupo de Estudos Audiovisuais (GEA), undertook a research mobility visit to Romania to produce the documentary commissioned for the European project EduCO2health. The project is funded by the European Union and focuses on the study of the human exposome, examining how environmental pressures on marine seagrass meadows in European oceans may bear upon human health.

The project, led by principal investigator Dr Ángel Carracedo, brings together partners from across Europe: the Scientific Museums of A Coruña (A Coruña City Council), the IES Bernardino de Escalante secondary school in Laredo (Cantabria), the University of Aveiro, represented by its science communication centre Fábrica Centro Ciência Viva (Portugal), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (Romania), and the XXVI High School of Łódź (Poland). Filming in Romania commenced on 30 March and encompassed locations including the Danube Delta, the Marine Biology Station of the University of Iași, and the beaches of Eforie Sud. The documentary is due to premiere on 30 June in Noia, as part of the summer course Genes, Environment, Health and Cinema, with which the Grupo de Estudos Audiovisuais (GEA) is also collaborating.
