The Salas das Cunchas do Grove will host the opening to this exhibition wich is an homage to Galician culture in the Diaspora. Promoted by the Diputación de Pontevedra and curated by Carmen Sendero and Ramón Nicolás, the exhibition will visit Gondomar, A Guarda, Redondela and Poio from September to December.
GalizAmérica traces the history of the Galician community in exile and the milestones achieved by Galician intellectuals migrated to America through 13 panels that delve into three central themes: the causes and conditions of exile, the generosity of the hostess society and the germ of the Galician identity, and the relations between the interior and exterior Galicia, in addition to the footprint of authors such as Lugrís, Freire, Castelao, Seoane or Colmeiro in the evolution of the nation. The exhibition is completed with the screening of the film A cicatriz branca by Margarita Ledo Andión, and several lectures on exile.
