8th International Cinema Conference in Viana do Castelo

The International Conference of Cinema of Viana is a space for reflection and exchange of experiences organized by Ao NORTE – Associação de Produção e Animação Audiovisual in collaboration with the Municipal Chamber of Viana do Castelo, for the construction of an international community of interests and dissemination of projects related to two central themes of cinema – cinema and school, and cinema: art, science and culture. The organization has just opened the deadline for sending abstracts of its eighth edition, which will be held in Viana del Castelo from 9 to 10 May 2019.

The procedure for submitting proposals follows the following schedule:
»Registration for the submission of abstracts: until February 15, 2019.
»Communication of acceptance of abstracts: until March 15, 2019.
»Send final communications and payment (speakers): until April 22, 2019.

The Viana Film Meetings, organized by the non-profit organization AO NORTE in collaboration with Viana do Castelo Municipal Council offers a unique experience in Portugal, both locally and nationwide. Since 2001, the event has been providing a platform to share, learn and discuss cinema, especially devoted to bringing together film students, film clubs from Portugal and Galicia (Spain) and the audience, stimulating a fruitful exchange with professional filmmakers, producers, and other artists.

The Film Meetings offers a room to screen, distribute and discuss Cinema, encouraging a close contact of emergent filmmakers and film students with a wide variety of audiences. The encounter also aims to inspire creative and artistic works in the field of moving images, approaching mainly ways of portraying the surrounding world.
