In this scientific paper, we intend to analyze the situation of the Spanish news scenario after the arrival of Digital Terrestrial Television, the characteristics of programs offered and the viability of different channels in a context set by changes, the economic downturn and the lack of a strategy in the audiovisual sector. It is also important to know whether the increase of television stations means greater information diversity and in what extent DTT has resources to face the challenges of the TV of the future, especially the needs of an increasingly segmented audience.
